- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg. Add to dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread cream cheese and sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into equal slices.
- Place slices on a greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
