- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
