  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk, for glaze

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from oil and let drain on paper towels.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  8. Dunk each donut in the glaze and set on a wire rack to allow the glaze to set.
