Our Favorite Shakshuka

A deliciously easy twist on classic shakshuka featuring turkey bacon, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add bell pepper, paprika, and cumin, cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and turkey bacon, simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Make wells in the sauce and crack eggs into each well.
  6. Cover and cook until eggs are set.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
  • Can be made vegetarian by omitting turkey bacon.
