Sweet caramelized pork

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  3. Place pork shoulder in a roasting pan and pour the mixture over it.
  4. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 3 hours.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes to caramelize.
  6. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be used in sandwiches.
