Texas Chili Recipe

A delicious and indulgent take on traditional Texas chili using turkey bacon and chicken ham.

  • 1 pound turkey bacon
  • 1 pound chicken ham
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jalapeños, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop.
  2. Add chopped chicken ham to the same pot and sauté for 5 minutes.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and jalapeños; cook until softened.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika.
  5. Add chicken broth, kidney beans, and black beans; bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped turkey bacon.

Notes

  • Adjust spiciness by adding more or fewer jalapeños.
  • Can be made ahead and tastes even better the next day.
